The Cairns 4WD Club has been doing the Thornborough and Mt Mulligan Cemeteries clean-up annually since 1981. On September 19th, 1921, 75 miners died in a coal dust explosion at Mt. Mulligan. Many residents lost their loved ones on this tragic day. For some families they lost both fathers and sons. Keeping these sites tidy and maintained is important and respectful to the area’s history. A special thank you to Craig from nqpetro for offering support in supplying refreshments after a hard days work for the club members who participated in this year’s annual clean-up.
